Cohesity Release DataPlatform VE & C2100 HC Node
Today Cohesity released two new products for remote and branch offices (ROBO): Cohesity DataPlatform Virtual Edition (VE) and Cohesity C2100 Hyperconverged Node. Combined with Cohesity DataProtect, the new DataPlatform VE an integrated software-only backup solution that, as the name implies, deploys on virtual machines (VMs). DataPlatform VE provides what Cohesity calls the first integrated data protection solution that deploys from the edge to the data center to the cloud with a common feature-set and management interface.
Data is continuing to grow and will only get larger. Growth isn’t limited to the data center either, Cloud storage, ROBO, and devices on the edge are also seeing rapid growth in data. DataPlatform VE takes Cohesity’s hyperconverged secondary storage platform and extends its capabilities to remote offices, regional data centers, core data centers and public clouds. DataPlatform VE is deployed on VMware vSphere and eliminates the need to provision any new hardware for ROBO. DataPlatform VE can be remotely installed and administered, a boon for remote sites that don’t have nearly enough IT resources on hand (sometimes none).
Cohesity has also announced a new hyperconverged node, the C2100. The C2100 is an entry-level hardware configuration designed for branch office or regional data center deployments. The new C2100 node, combined with Cohesity DataPlatform Standard Edition, gives customers a dedicated data protection solution designed for environments with multiple server hosts and storage.
Cohesity expects to have Cohesity DataPlatform VE available in the next 90 days.
