Connected Data Transporter 15 and 30 Appliances Announced

Connected Data has announced the Transporter 15 and 30, two new private cloud file sync and share appliances designed to deliver critical business-class file sharing features, performance and capacity to small businesses, departments and remote offices. Both appliances help preserve the privacy and control of business data all the while offering users with the same benefits and experience as public cloud solutions like Dropbox. When coupled with Transporter, Transporter 75 and Transporter 150 appliances, Connected Data now offers a diverse range of private cloud file sync and share solutions for consumers and businesses of all sizes.

The new Transporter appliances are designed to protect and secure business data on-site, support employees' needs to sync, access and share files from authorized computers or mobile devices. Connected Data's Transporter appliances accomplish all of this by taking advantage of their existing infrastructure, all the while avoiding the backend costs that are usually inherent of traditional cloud implementations. In addition, data is 100% private and stored only onsite, allowing it to be the only "cloud" file sync and share solution. As a result, this meets the compliance needs of legal, financial, government and healthcare organizations. It also meets increasing data locality legislation in countries including Canada, China, Germany, Japan and Russia due to retaining data locally.

The Transporter 15 and Transporter 30 appliances are built to provide superior security benefits for on-premise cloud and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). BYOD supported applications include Transporter Mac App, Transporter Windows App, Transporter iOS App and Transporter Android App. All Transporters are also compatible with one another, allowing businesses to leverage any combination of appliances to reach their file sync and share business goals. Other Transporter benefits include:

  • "Anytime, anywhere" file access and sharing
  • Total control over location and redundancy of data including multi-site replication
  • Elimination of the privacy concerns with public cloud storage
  • Automatically syncs data between Transporter appliances
  • Integrates with Microsoft Active Directory
  • Includes versioning, auditing and read-only controls
  • Provides up to 24TB of cloud accessible storage per node
  • No monthly or per user fees
