Today at Dell World in Austin, Dell Inc. introduced several new solutions and services aimed at lowering costs and downtime in large-scale datacenters. These new solutions and services run the gamut from servers to arrays to hyperconverged to software. All of these announced solutions will help customers to easily scale and adapt to their infrastructures in order to help them handle the rapidly growing market and prepare for future growth and changes.

Along with the new Servers and software we’ve already announced, Dell is also expanded its hyperconverged line of appliances with what has dubbed as its “next wave.” These new solutions include the high-density Dell XC6320. The XC6320 has 4 compute nodes and supports up to 44TB of capacity in its 2U form factor. This density reduces footprint and rack space in datacenters. Dell is also adding all-flash appliances to its XC series, the new Dell XC630-10F and XC6320-6F All-Flash Nodes.

Specifications

  • Form Factor:
    • XC630-10F: 1U, 1 node
    • XC6320-6F: 2U, 4 node
  • Workload
    • XC630-10F: Compute and performance- intensive VDI, test and development, private cloud, server virtualization
    • XC6320-6F: High-density compute and storage environments, service providers, private cloud
  • Dual Intel Xeon processors
  • DIMMs
    • XC630-10F: 4–24 x 16GB and 32GB RDIMMs, DDR4, installed in pairs
    • XC6320-6F: 4–16 per node x 16GB, 32GB RDIMMs, installed in pairs

Along with the expanded XC Series, Dell is also introduced and expanded on some of its software. The Dell ProDeploy Enterprise Suite helps customers get more out of their technology from the first day. The Suite comes with three deployment services and full training and certification. The suite helps future ready customer datacenters by integrating new technology and optimizing long-term performance of critical systems. Dell claims that their Suite enables customers to deploy 39% faster and can save up to $2,000 per device deployed.

To further make the most and future proof datacenters, Dell is also introducing its Dell Application Modernization Portfolio. This software solution helps customers modernize and simplify their applications aiding with integration with digital services. This gives customers enhanced business agility and allows them to address complex legacy challenges with fit-to-purpose hybrid approaches.
