Today Cohesity launched what it is calling the industry’s first storage platform that combines end-to-end data protection and big data storage on distributed, infinitely scalable architecture, Cohesity Orion 5.0. According to Cohesity, this new platform will perform both as a backup solution and searchable archive for large amounts of structured and unstructured data. The latest version of Orion is set to help companies simplify administration, reduce overall data copies, accelerate search and retrieval, all while lowering storage costs.

HPE Software Releases Its New ABR Suite

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Software announced the latest version of its Adaptive Backup and Recovery (ABR) Suite. Combining HPE Data Protector, HPE Backup Navigator, and HPE Storage Optimizer, the new ABR Suite aims to deliver a centralized, integrated and streamlined approach to backup and recovery that reduces complexity and automates processes. Arcserve Acquires Zetta

Today Arcserve, LLC announced that it had acquired Zetta, a leader in cloud-first disaster recovery (DR) solutions and data center IP. This marks the second major acquisition for Arcserve in recent history, the other being the acquisition of the email archiving technology, FastArchiver. With this latest acquisition (whose terms were not disclosed), Arcserve is unveiling its disaster avoidance roadmap to the first, affordable near-zero data loss disaster recovery across cloud, virtual and physical infrastructures.

Today Reduxio Systems unveiled what it is calling the world’s first unified primary and secondary storage platform with built-in disaster recovery (DR) and copy data management capabilities, Reduxio V3. The latest version is a step toward a highly available, self-healing, and self-recovering system designed to deliver near-zero RPO (recovery point objective) and RTO (recovery time objective). Acronis Backup 12.5 With Standard and Advanced Versions Announced

Acronis has announced the latest release of Acronis Backup with version 12.5, which comes in comes in two editions: Standard and Advanced. With Acronis Backup 12.5 Standard, businesses can start small and have the ability to upgrade to the Advanced edition when their infrastructure grows large enough by simply switching out license keys. Earlier this year, Acronis added Office 365 support to its backup solution.
