Barracuda Announces Backup 6.3 With New Enhancements

Today Barracuda announced the latest version of its Backup, version 6.3, with new enhancements centered around better performance, enhanced public cloud support, and higher capacity. These new enhancements will be available in both physical and virtual Barracuda Backup appliances for customers with active subscriptions. Barracuda is also increasing capacity, while at the same time lowering price.

Panzura Releases Panzura Inside

At VMworld 2016 in Las Vegas, Panzura announced the release of its new program that combines Panzura’s hybrid cloud NAS software with leading flash arrays and hyperconverged systems, Panzura Inside. Inside will be able to deliver high performance storage for both block and file workloads. The Panzura Inside virtual controller is currently tested with Nimble, Nutanix, Tegile, and Simplivity.

Axcient Releases Fusion 1.5

At VMorld 2016 in Las Vegas, Axcient announced the latest version of its cloud-converged IT resilience platform, Fusion 1.5. The latest version features new cloud orchestration and workflow automation capabilities that are aimed at simplifying and automating continuity and availability for critical services. The Axcient Fusion IT resilience platform was first announced in June.

Zerto Announces Virtual Replication 5.0

Today at VMworld 2016, Zerto introduced its enterprise-class disaster recovery to Microsoft Azure, Zerto Virtual Replication 5.0. Zerto states this new technology can help companies that wish to use Microsoft Azure cloud computing platform for BC/DR. Version 5.0 also includes the first hypervisor-based “one-to-many” replication for protection of multiple workloads across different data center sites, 30-day journaling, and a new mobile app.

Veeam Announces Its Availability Platform For The Hybrid Cloud

Veeam Software made a few announcements recently with the largest being a new product, the Veeam Availability Platform for the Hybrid Cloud. Along with they new platform, Veeam is announcing primary storage integration with the IBM Storwize family and IBM SVC platform (to be including in Veeam Availability Suite v10). EMC Updates Its Data Protection Suite For VMware

Today EMC announced updates to its Data Protection Suite for VMware as well as new products designed to optimize the protection of VMware workloads across the spectrum of VMware environments. The new enhancements include support for VMware Virtual SAN, VMware vSphere, and expanded data protection options for VCE VxRail Appliances. EMC also announced that it would be demonstrating VMware integration in its primary storage arrays at VMworld.
