HDS Announces New HCI Solutions For Virtualization & Cloud

Today Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) announced two new converged and hyperconverged systems, the Hitachi Unified Compute Platform 2000 (UCP 2000) converged system and the UCP HC V240. The UCP HC V240 is the first member of the new Hitachi Unified Compute Platform HC (UCP HC) line of hyper-converged solutions. These new solutions are designed to be flexible, agile, and scalable and are built off of Hitachi’s technology that they state can reduce cost and risk while alleviating complexity and accelerating time to value.

Atlantis Announces Cost-Effective VDI As Low As $125/Desktop

At Citrix Synergy in Las Vegas this year several companies are announcing new products and services. Earlier this week we covered Nutanix working with Citrix to release VDI aimed at the midmarket for as low as $415/desktop. Not to be outdone, Atlantis Computing is announcing VDI as low as $125 per desktop. To bring this to market Atlantis has entered into a strategic alliance with Citrix that will combine the Citrix Workspace Suite software stack running on Citrix XenServer with Atlantis HyperScale all-flash hyperconverged appliances and Atlantis USX software-defined storage solutions.

Nutanix Takes Aim At SMB With $25,000 Xpress

Today Nutanix announced that it was brining its enterprise cloud platform to small and medium businesses (SMBs) at an affordable price with its new Nutanix Xpress. Nutanix states that its new Xpress is simple enough for a single IT professional will be able to install and manage it. Today at the second day of EMC World 2016 in Las Vegas, EMC Corporation announced that it has expanded its VCE VxRack System 1000 to provide a turnkey cloud-native IaaS experience through new ‘Neutrino’ nodes.
