Synology Releases FS1018, DS218, & Virtual Machine Manager

Cloudian Announces GA Of HyperFile

Today Cloudian announced the availability of its integrated NAS Controller that delivers SMB/NFS file services from on-premises Cloudian HyperStore object storage systems, Cloudian HyperFile. According to the company, HyperFile is the first object-storage system to include all the features essential to enterprise network attached storage (NAS) customers, thus opening the door for deployment in mission-critical, capacity-intensive applications that employ file data. Cloudian goes on to claim that customers can see TCO as high as 70% and “limitless scalability” versus using a traditional NAS system.

The QSAN XCubeSAN XS1200 Series is a dual controller SAN designed to meet the needs of SMBs and ROBO. Supporting both Fibre Channel and iSCSI, the XS1200 can handle the requisite workloads. QSAN offers a wide variety of features in the array via SANOS 4.0 highlighted by thin provisioning, SSD read/write cache, tiering, snapshots, local volume clones and remote replication. Internally, the controllers are powered by Intel D1500 two-core CPUs and 4GB of DDR4 memory. For those who need to scale up, QSAN offers the XD5300 expansion unit; the XS1200 can support up to 286 drives in total.
