The Dell Mellanox ConnectX-4 Lx is a dual port network interface card (NIC) designed to deliver high bandwidth and low latency with its 25GbE transfer rate. What is interesting about this NIC is that it is designed specifically for the Dell PowerEdge line of servers (specifically the R630, R730, R730xd, and R930), slotting into the motherboard without taking up a traditional PCIe slot. The Dell Mellanox ConnectX-4 Lx aims to bring about all of the performance promise of the PowerEdge servers while not letting networking be the bottleneck that slows everything down.

Aruba Announces New Aruba 8400 Core Switch & ArubaOS-CX

At HPE Discover 2017, Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) company, announced a new enterprise core and aggregation switch, the Aruba 8400 Core Switch Series, and what it is calling the industry’s most advanced operating system, ArubaOS-CX. Both the switch series and the OS are an effort to improve what Aruba is referring to as today’s antiquated switching platforms. The new switch series and OS are also purpose-built for emerging mobile-cloud business applications and changing traffic patterns driven by IoT.

Mellanox Introduces SH2200 Ethernet Switch Module For HPE Synergy

Today at HPE Discover 2017 in Las Vegas, Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. announced its Spectrum Ethernet switch ASIC will power the first Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Synergy Switch Module supporting native 25, 50, and 100 Gb/s Ethernet connectivity. The SH2200 switch module connects HPE Synergy with an Ethernet switch fabric that the companies state has unmatched performance and latency, which is ideal for cloud, financial services, telecommunications, and HPC. Mellanox states that the SH2200 can deliver up to 6.4Tbps of non-blocking throughput.

Cisco Announces Its 3Q17 Earnings

Cisco announced its third quarter earnings. The company saw a sharp sell off of its stock in after hour trading after releasing earnings. While the earnings as a whole weren’t bad, the company predicted a lower than analysts estimate for next quarter’s revenue. The company also announced an additional 1,100 layoffs.
