Mellanox Announces BlueField Software-Defined SmartNIC Adaptors

Today Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. announced the addition of the BlueField family of software-defined SmartNIC adapters to its portfolio. Designed for scale-out server and storage applications, these new adaptors bring new capabilities with their embedded ARM processor cores and accelerators. Based off of Mellanox’s BlueField SoC, the new SmartNIC adaptors are stated to have up to 200Gb/s of low-latency throughput.

SonicWall Releases A Slew Of New Products

Today SonicWall announced several new products and services aimed at accelerating speed thresholds for its Automated Real-Time Breach Detection and Prevention Platform across wired, wireless and mobile networks. Today NETGEAR Inc, announced its new remote management and monitoring solution, NETGEAR Insight. Insight offers a plug-and-play set up and management of NETGEAR Wi-Fi access points, switches and storage devices. All controlled through a free mobile App. The company is also introducing what it refers to as the industry’s first fully-integrated, cloud-manageable network switches for SMB, in its Smart Cloud Switches as well as managed Smart Cloud Wireless Access Points.

Cisco Announces 4Q17 & Fiscal Year Earnings

Today Cisco announced its fourth quarter and fiscal year earnings for 2017. The stock saw a sharp drop in after hours trading and is still running under where it was last quarter. While the overall numbers were better than expected, the company reported that sales were down year-over-year, which most likely started the selloff.
