Supermicro Introduces Clean Energy Automated Rack Integration Facility

Today, Super Micro Computer, Inc. announced its, as well as Silicon Valley’s, first 3-megawatt clean energy automated rack integration facility. This facility will be an automated 60-rack burn-in facility with robotic Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) to expedite the processing, delivery and deployment of large-scale datacenter investments. Supermicro claims that this will be one of the world’s largest clean energy automated rack integration facilities.

Eaton Releases New HDNR For Increased Cable Capacity

Eaton Corporation has released a rack that is flexible and space efficient along with a cable management solution for high-density network equipment and data center applications. The new rack series is called the Eaton B-Line series High Density Network Rack System. While that is quite a mouthful, they call it HDNR for short. Compared to other vertical cable managers, Eaton’s HDNR uses its patented 4-Dimension structural support system to get more in cable management capacity.

The racks are ideal for small to medium-scale datacenter deployments to hold servers, storage arrays, and networking equipment as well as all the necessary power equipment to keep it up and running.
