ECD announced a new version of its enterprise content management repository, Documentum 7.3. And Dell EMC ECD announced a new next-generation content management platform, the Dell EMC LEAP platform.

VMware Announces VSAN 6.5 & Other Solutions

Today at VMworld Europe 2016 in Barcelona, VMware, Inc. announced the several new releases of its compute, storage, and cloud management solutions. VMware Introduces Kubernetes as a Service On Photon Platform

Today at VMworld Europe 2016 in Barcelona, VMware, Inc. announced built-in support for Kubernetes in VMware Photon Platform, this support will allow the ability to deliver Kubernetes as a Service (KaaS). On top of KaaS, Photon Platform will also be adding networking and storage services powered by VMware NSX and VMware Virtual SAN, making it an end-to-end enterprise cloud-native infrastructure platform.

Primary Data Adds Scale-Out File Services To DataSphere For VSAN

Today Primary Data announced that is has added scale-out file services with VMware Virtual SAN (VSAN) to its DataSphere software. This means that VSAN will be able to support its native block protocols as well as file protocols with DataSphere. Primary Data states that this new ability for VSAN to support more applications in the same physical footprint as well as being deployed as both a hyper-converged solution as well as a scale out NAS solution.
