Commvault Introduces Early Adopter Program For Its New SaaS Offerings

Today Commvault introduced an early adopter program for two new Software as Service (SaaS) offerings. Both of these offerings address the shift that is being seen as more and more solutions are moving to the cloud. The two SaaS offerings are for Endpoint Data Protection and Email Archive Software. Customers participating in the Early Adopter program can use the fully-managed cloud service to automatically and securely backup data on employee laptops and desktops and archive email, reducing the risk of data loss from breaches and lost or stolen endpoint devices.

Dell Security announced the release of the latest OS version of its Dell SonicWALL Secure Mobile Access (SMA) 100 Series, version 8.5. This new version provides mobile and remote workers at SMBs, with policy-enforced SSL VPN access to mission-critical applications, data and resources without compromising security. Scality S3 Server Now Generally Available

Hot on the heels of last week’s update to RING Version 6.0, Scality has announced the General Availability of its S3 Server software, an open source version of its S3 API. Scality S3 is packaged as a Docker container, which is designed for easy deployment on a single server. Scality indicates that it will allow developers to code the S3 API locally with the ability to extend the API as needed. The company adds that enterprises will be able to use the Scality S3 Server to accelerate time-to-market of cloud applications without having to make the decision of where the application will be deployed during production. Additionally, applications will be freely deployable on premises and on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Public Cloud without changing having to make any modifications to code.

Scality Announces RING 6.0

Today Scality announced a major update of its flagship object storage software, RING 6.0. According to Scality, RING 6.0 enables enterprise production deployments of S3-based applications, the first object storage that is S3 compatible with full Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Identity and Access Management (IAM) support. Scality states that RING Version 6.0 has already been deployed and tested by beta customers, and is enterprise-ready now.
