NetApp Introduces NetApp Private Storage (NPS) for Microsoft Azure

NetApp has introduced NetApp Private Storage (NPS) for Microsoft Azure. NPS for Microsoft Azure is a solution that creates a seamless hybrid cloud environment by enabling customers to extend their IT infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. NPS for Microsoft Azure further builds on NetApp’s portfolio of Microsoft Cloud solutions such as FlexPod with Microsoft Private Cloud.

Combining NPS with Microsoft Azure provides customers with dedicated, enterprise storage with the elasticity and savings of Microsoft Azure Private Cloud. This solution allows enterprises to optimize their business by simply and securely extending into the cloud and expanding their options without adding complexity. Using Azure ExpressRoute will provide a secure, high-speed, low latency connection between NPS and Microsoft Azure, 36 percent better performance versus VPN over public connections. ExpressRoute is a private connection that does not go over the Internet, instead customers can connect directly to their private storage at a co-location facility.

Key benefits include:

  • Microsoft Azure and NetApp for enterprise workloads
  • Peak workload management
  • Disaster recovery at a lower cost
  • Data “next to” vs “into” the cloud
  • Compliance and sovereignty regulations
  • Hybrid cloud accelerates innovation and time-to-market
  • Optimize cloud resources with System Center

Availability

NetApp Private Storage is available now in North America and will be available in the near future in Europe and Asia
