HP Announces Several VR Products & Services

Today HP made several announcements around Virtual Reality (VR). This includes its bestselling workstation, the HP Z4, to now support either Intel Xeon or Core X processors as well as supporting dual extreme graphics. The company announced its new HP Windows Mixed Reality Headset. A new HP VR launch kit will be offered to accelerate VR development and optimize VR deployment for high-fidelity use-cases. And the company will expand its Device as a Service (DaaS) offering to include Virtual Reality solutions.

Dell EMC Expands Data Protection To SMBs With Data Domain DD3300

Today Dell EMC announced that it was expanding its data protection portfolio with a new Data Domain, DD3300. The Data Domain DD3300 is aimed at SMB and entry-level organizations bringing all the enterprise-level benefits of Data Domain in a smaller footprint. The DD3300 will be cloud-ready and offer multi-site scalability.

SK Hynix Announces New Enterprise SSDs with 72-Layer 512Gb 3D NAND

SK Hynix has announced they have recently completed the development of an enterprise SATA SSD, marking the company’s entrance into this high value-added market. The new enterprise drive is equipped with 72-Layer 512Gb 3D NAND flash chips, an in-house firmware and controller, and is offered in a maximum capacity of 4TB.

Dell 34” Curved Monitor Review (P3418HW)

Dell has released another 34-inch curved monitor with the new P3418HW. As with the previous 34-inch monitors, the P3418HW all about increasing productivity by reducing eye movement, peripheral distractions, all the while improving viewing comfort and enabling better multitasking. The 34 inches provide roughly a 33% increase in view over a 27-inch, allowing more applications to be fully visible at a time.

Dell EMC Networking S4048 S-Series 10GbE Switch Review

Two of the latest additions to the StorageReview Enterprise Test Lab are a matched pair of Dell EMC S4048-ON switches. The S4048-ON is a 1U Open Networking switch that incorporates 48 dual-speed 1/10GbE SFP+ ports alongside 6 QSFP+ uplink ports at 40GbE. NetApp AFF A200 VMmark 3 Results Published

At the time of our initial NetApp AFF A200 review publishing, we were in the the process of finalizing our VMmark 3 test process and working through our first submission. We've since streamlined the VMmark 3 submission process and our audited submissions are approved at a regular pace. The recent approvals include the results from the NetApp AFF A200. Dell Updates its Wyse Thin Clint Software & Management Suite

Today Dell announced that it was updating its thin client software with an eye for easing setup, management, and the ability to scale VDI solutions. The updates include the latest version of the operating system for Wyse thin clients, ThinOS 8.5, and an update to Wyse Management Suite, version 1.1. Dell is also announcing two new solutions, the Wyse Converter for PCs and Wyse Easy Setup.
