SwiftStack at VeeamON 2014

by Mark Kidd

SwiftStack is a unified storage platform that runs on Linux with commodity hardware in order to provide massively scalable, software-defined storage. SwiftStack is based on the OpenStack Swift object storage engine and uses an out-of-band controller that conceptualizes storage as a data plane (physical storage) and a control plane (data and metadata management layer).

SwiftStack is a unified storage platform that runs on Linux with commodity hardware in order to provide massively scalable, software defined-storage. SwiftStack is based on the OpenStack Swift object storage engine and uses an out-of-band controller that conceptualizes storage as a data plane (physical storage) and a control plane (data and metadata management layer).

The SwiftStack Controller dashboard can manage an entire storage infrastructure with one view across all devices and nodes. SwiftStack’s filesystem gateway provides access to Swift object storage from file-based applications and workflows. The solution can also be integrated with SwiftStack Controller so that file-based storage gets can be accessed as object storage.
