Synology Announces The DS115j Single-Bay NAS
Today Synology America Corp. announced the DS115j NAS. The DS115j is a single bay NAS and one of the most economical NAS units on the market. The DS115j runs Synology's award winning OS, DiskStation Manager (DSM).
The Synology DS115j is small and inexpensive. It is aimed at home offices and home users that need to share data on multiple devices. The DS115j can share photos through Photo station, stream videos through DLNA compliant devices with Media Server, and share audio with Audio Station. The NAS can be accessed through Apple, Android and Windows mobile devices.
The DS115j comes with Cloud Station, allowing users to create a private cloud where they can share, manage, backup, and sync data over all their devices. Cloud Station provides a way to backup files, retaining a 32-version history of each file, file-type, and folder, making accidental deletion a minimal concern. And users can use Cloud Sync to sync their DropBox and GoogleDrive contests to their NAS.
Additional features include:
- Supports speeds over 100MB/s read and 60MB/s write
- Built in floating-point processor
- Energy efficient: consuming just 3.85 Watts in hibernation
- 2 x USB 2.0 ports
