Synology Launches the RackStation RS10613xs+
Synology has announced the launch of the RS10613xs+ following last week's release of the RS3413xs+. Built specifically for SMEs, the new 10-bay 2U RackStation is Synology’s most advanced hardware to date, providing fast and scalable storage at a reasonable price; the ideal storage solution between NAS and SAN. The RS10613xs+ can quickly scale to up to 106 SAS drives (up to 424TB raw storage) by taking advantage of the 8 new RX1213sas expansion modules. This allows businesses to expand their capacity on the go and as needed.
The RS10613xs+ is optimized for virtual network storage, supporting both iSCSI and NFS. Additionally, it is certified for VMware vSphere 5, Microsoft Windows Server 2012 with Hyper-V, and Citrix XenServer. It also has VAAI integration, including Hardware Assisted Locking, Block Zero, Full Copying, and Thin Provisioning.
The newest addition to the XS series includes SSD caching support for improved speeds while still allowing users to take advantage of the storage capacity of mechanical drives. The RS10613xs+ also comes with 8GB ECC RAM (expandable to 32GB) to improve data reliability. To minimize downtime, it supports Synology’s upcoming High Availability package, all the while maximizing uptime by allowing the clustering of RackStations with automatic failover.
Synology America will offer an optional extended 5-year warranty program. This extended warranty includes an expedited warranty service that will ship replacement servers and parts on the next business day. Pricing on the RS10613xs+ starts at 6,999.99
