TwinStrata CloudArray 4.0 Consolidates Cloud Storage, NAS, and SAN Functionality
TwinStrata has announced CloudArray 4.0, the newest version of its cloud storage gateway that integrates enterprise storage with cloud storage through native support for NAS and SAN protocols. TwinStrata's CloudArray P300 is the industry’s first line of cloud-integrated storage appliances to natively support both NAS and iSCSI.
The CloudArray P300 series is a new line of integrated high-availability appliances in a 2U enclosure that will leverage CloudArray 4.0. The P300 series begins at 6TB onboard usable capacity with hybrid SSD options available.
CloudArray 4.0 Overview
- Server Message Block (SMB), SMB2, Common Internet File System (CIFS), and Active Directory Support
- iSCSI SAN Connectivity
- Supports 20 cloud storage providers, up from 11 providers in 2011
- In-cloud compute appliance deployments for disaster recovery in on-premise environments and primary storage deployments for cloud-based infrastructures that use Amazon EC2, Rackspace, IBM SmartCloud Enterprise, and Google Cloud Compute.
- Subscription-based or “bring your own cloud” perpetual license models.
New management functions in CloudArray 4.0 improve visibility across both historic and present operations. Version 4.0 features a new dashboard and GUI to improve real-time monitoring of data stored in the cloud and locally, cache and cloud data flows, and capacity usage. TwinStrata has also enhanced multi-tenant monitoring for managed service providers with this new release.
Subscription pricing for both virtual and physical appliances begins at $0.19 per gigabyte per month for both appliance and cloud storage, while perpetual pricing begins at $4,995.
