TYAN Unveils GT75-BP012, Their New POWER8-Based 1U Sever
TYAN unveiled the GT75-BP012 line during the OpenPOWER Summit 2016 earlier this week, their newest POWER8-based 1U server platform. Comprised of the BSP012G75V4H-B4C, BSP012G75V4H-Q4T, BSP012G75V4H-Q4F, this new platform series supports the maximum configuration with a single POWER8 CPU (10-core/ 80-thread), 1,024GB DDR3L memory (32x 32GB) and 64MB last-level cache. Last month, we reviewed the GT62B-B5539 1U server system, a cost-effective NVMe storage that focuses on low power footprint.
The new platform also comes equipped with optional 4x 10GBASE-T, 4x 1000BASE-T, or 4x 10GBASE SFP+ uplink, 1x PCI-E expansion slots as well as 4x LFF drives, which allows it to provide exceptional capability for in-memory computing in a 1U implementation. TYAN indicates that their new GT75-BP012 OpenPOWER platform line-up will allow them offer enterprises and data centers with a high price-performance ratio solution for data analytics and high-performance computing (HPC) application deployments.
