Data Protection Concerns Rise With The Increase In SaaS Usage
Asigra Inc. has pointed to further evidence showing an increasing use of Software as a Service (SaaS) is on the rise and companies need to examine the issue of data protection. Businesses are continuing to use SaaS more and more with popular applications such as Microsoft Office 365, Google Apps, and Salesforce.com. With the continuing adoption and expansion of using such applications, organizations need to take a closer look data protection to prevent data loss.
According to Odin’s fifth annual U.S. SMB Cloud Insights report, the cloud service market for small to medium business will expand 11.4% over the next three years. Over the last five years Odin has seen an increase adoption of these cloud services to smaller markets and expects that they will reach $34.9 billion by 2018. Both Microsoft and Google state that half of the Fortune 500 companies use Google App, Azure, and Outlook 365.
Despite the increase in usage of cloud services stated above, many SaaS apps offer very limited data recovery capabilities. As customers growing increasing concerned with this lack of data protection, there is an opportunity for companies to provide a service for protecting and backing up cloud services. Asigra, for example, offers a cloud-to-cloud backup service for Microsoft Office 365 that provides a secure backup of data to authorized cloud service providers or the organization’s own private cloud. Asigra’s cloud-to-cloud backup also supports Google Apps and Salesforce.com.
