Dell Release Latest Version Of SharePlex

Dell Inc. announced the latest release of its database replication and near real-time data integration solution, SharePlex. Dell is continuing to expand on SharePlex’s replication capabilities we last reported on. The latest release allows replication of Oracle data directly to SAP HANA, Teradata, or EnterpriseDB Postgres. This release continues Dell’s message of spending less time on worrying about dealing with migration, and more time working on core business interests.

Organizations are seeking new database technology in order to keep up with emerging analytics requirements, lower costs, and to better manage what they have. Companies need a safe and effective way to migrate to these new technologies in order to reap the benefits. The growing list of support from SharePlex will help companies gain the flexibility to chose new technologies and migrate their databases to it.

Dell claims that its SharePlex can replicate data in near real-time with no impact to the production database. Not only that, they go on to claim that SharePlex does this at half the cost of other database replication solutions. SharePlex not only now supports migrations to SAP HANA, Teradata, or EnterpriseDB Postgres, but also Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, SAP ASE, Java Message Service (JMS), SQL and XML Files. Dell states that this latest release also can reduce downtime, deploy unlimited practice runs with no impact, and put control of scheduling back in the hands of IT while migrating.

The latest version of SharePlex is expected to be available on May 24, 2016.
