Hitachi Vantara Announces New AI Operations Software and Flash Storage Systems

Hitachi Vantara has announced several new innovations designed to promote data center modernization, including an updated advanced AI operations software portfolio: Hitachi Infrastructure Analytics Advisor, Hitachi Automation Director, and Hitachi Data Instance Director. Moreover, the new all-flash hybrid Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) systems and AI operations software give customers agility and automation, which Hitachi indicates helps to reduce costs and increase operational efficiencies. NVIDIA Announces DRIVE System For Autonomous Vehicles

Today at GTC 2018, NVIDIA introduced its new cloud-based system for testing autonomous vehicles using a photorealistic simulation, NVIDIA DRIVE Sim software. This simulation is all about making the autonomous vehicles safer while providing a more scalable method for bringing them to the roads. They also announced the NVIDIA DRIVE Pegasus AI car computer to run the autonomous software stack and process the data from driving.

Toshiba KumoScale NVMe-oF Storage Software Launched (With Review Preview)

Today at Open Compute Project (OCP) 2018 in San Jose, California, Toshiba Memory America Inc. announced the release of its new NVM Express over Fabrics (NVMe-oF) shared accelerated storage software, KumoScale. This new software will help companies to maximize their use of NVMe flash drives, and the performance benefits of directed-attached NVMe, over the data center network. The company is also collaborating with Portworx to bring the industry’s first Kubernetes integration with NVMe-oF target. We have also begun testing a KumoScale solution with the Newisys division of Sanmina and the results have been so stunning, we didn't want to wait for the review to complete to share some of what we're seeing.
