The new forever live appliances can start off small and scale to hundreds of petabytes as the needs increase. The appliances offer up to 3.8PB per rack. ![]() Cloudian first brought out appliances last year with HyperStore 5.0. Their latest appliances are optimized for HyperStore 5.2. The FL3000 series provide 8 nodes in a 3U form factor, up to 128GB per node, are powered by Intel Xeon-based processor, and have dual flash drives for metadata optimization. Storage is provided through 60-drive, 4U storage shelves, up to 480TB per 4U. All components are hot swappable to reduce downtime. Cloudian states that its appliances can reduce complexity with 50% less footprint and 60% fewer servers, cables and network ports. The appliances are built to be future proof. Modular components are made to be upgradeable and modular architecture enables users to add newer models with no forklift upgrades, data migration, or planned downtime. The latest version of HyperStore provides self-service storage policies that enable users to define policies for their data at the bucket level. IT administrators will still be able to oversee data distribution and protection at the data center level. With HyperStore 5.2, users across the enterprise will be able to set specific policies for their data, which in turn could save businesses significantly on operational costs. **Key benefits include:** - Cloudian HyperStore forever live FL3000 series arrays provide continuous operations with no downtime - Scale on demand from terabytes to hundreds of petabytes - HyperStore 5.2 features new self-service storage policies enabling user-level data policy management for optimized data protection and cost reduction **Specifications:** - μNode Chassis - Form factor: 3U - Drives: 16 SSDs per 2 nodes - Modules: 8xμNodes - Connectivity: 16x10G SFP+, 8x1Gbe IPMI - Dimensions (LxWxH): 23.2” x 17.26” x 45.21” (589mm x 438.4mm x 132.5mm) - Weight: 88 lbs (39.92 kg) - Drive Size: 480GB SSD MLC - Power Supply: 2 1620W Output @ 180-240V 10.5-8A, 50-60Hz - Cooling: 4x 8cm 11K RPM, 4-pin PWM cooling fans - RohS: Compliant - Disk Zones: 1 Zone per Node - Expansion Shelf - Form factor: 4U - Drives: 60 HDDs - Modules: 2 Hot-swappable SAS Interface Modules & 4 Hot-swappable Internal SAS Interface Modules - Connectivity: 2×4-port 6Gb/s mini-SAS ports - Dimensions (LxWxH): 43.43” x 17.60” x 6.90” (1103.1mm x 447mm x 175.3mm) - Weight: 187.39 lbs (85 kg) with HDDs - Drive Size: 2, 4, 6, 8 TB SATA 7200rpm - Power Supply: 2 1400W high efficiency redundant PSUs 200-240VAC, 50/60Hz - Cooling: 4x 8cm 11K RPM, 4-pin PWM cooling fans - RohS: Compliant - Disk Zones: 2 or 4 Zones per shelf - FL3020 - Data Disks Per Node: 15 - Supported Drive Types: 2,4,5,6TB - Max Capacity/Node: 30TB, 60TB, 75TB, 90TB - CPU Type: Intel E5-2640 V2.2GHz, 8 cores - Memory: 64GB - Connectivity: 2x10Gbe SFP+Port, 1x1Gbe IPMI Lan Port - Hyperstore OS Disks: 2x480GB SSDs - Disk Connectivity: 2x6bps SAS Ports - KVM: 1xVGA, 1xCOM, and 2xUSB 2.0 (with KVM dongle) ports - Switch: Power - FL3050 - Data Disks Per Node: 30 - Supported Drive Types: 2,4,5,6TB - Max Capacity/Node: 60TB, 120TB, 150TB, 180TB - CPU Type: Intel E5-2640 V2.2GHz, 8 cores - Memory: 128GB - Connectivity: 2x10Gbe SFP+Port, 1x1Gbe IPMI Lan Port - Hyperstore OS Disks: 2x480GB SSDs - Disk Connectivity: 2x6bps SAS Ports - KVM: 1xVGA, 1xCOM, and 2xUSB 2.0 (with KVM dongle) ports - Switch: Power **Availability** Both the new software and appliances are available today.
