Not only does it power Quantum’s new [Xcellis high-performance workflow storage solution](https://www.storagereview.com/quantum_announces_xcellis_highperformance_workflow_storage_solution) , [Artico NAS archive appliance](https://www.storagereview.com/quantum_announces_three_new_solutions_to_manage_unstructured_data_growth), and the company’s new Q-Cloud Vault service, version 5.3 also incorporates end-to-end encryption for all Q-Cloud offerings. As a result, StorNext users leverage the secure, low-cost public cloud storage for long-term retention and protection of their data. ![]() These new solutions give customers the ability to deploy advanced, multi-tier storage architectures that focus on both on-premise, high-performance storage for tasks that are performance-dependent, and off-premise, highly scalable storage for cost-effective, long-term archive. In addition, Quantum indicates that StorNext will force assets to reside in the storage tier that best suits the workflow requirement as well as maintaining complete visibility and accessibility to all assets no matter where they are located. When powered by StorNext, Q-Cloud Vault is fully integrated as a tier within workflows, providing low-cost, Quantum-managed cold storage in the public cloud. Benefits include: - Automated, policy-based data movement to the cloud. - No need for additional hardware, separate applications or programming. - End-to-end encryption — on the client side, in transit and at rest in the cloud. - Full user control of encryption keys and data access. - Straight-forward pricing and billing directly from Quantum. - Quantum world-class service and support. For cost-effective, long-term data storage, Q-Cloud Vault integrates Amazon Glacier storage to complement to Quantum’s Q-Cloud Archive service, which leverages Amazon S3 as a storage tier for more active archive data. StorNext 5.3 gives StorNext-based deployment users new options for managing data, such as Alternate Store Location. This feature offers a ton customizability to help set up automatic copying of files to multiple sites or storage tiers. StorNext 5.3 also provides full support for the latest generation of LTO tape systems and devices (LTO-7). **Availability** StorNext 5.3, Xcellis workflow storage, and Q-Cloud Vault are now available. In addition, StorNext 5.3 can immediately be deployed on existing Quantum StorNext Pro Solutions, StorNext M-Series appliances, and Artico NAS archive appliances.> [StorNext 5.3](http://www.quantum.com/products/scale-out-storage/stornext-data-management/index.aspx) [Discuss this story](http://forums.storagereview.com/index.php/topic/38340-quantum-stornext-53-announced/) [Sign up for the StorageReview newsletter](https://www.storagereview.com/storagereview_newsletter_signup) **Engage with StorageReview** [Newsletter](https://www.storagereview.com/storage_newsletter) |  [YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/user/StorageReview "Opens in a new window") | Podcast  [iTunes](https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/storagereview-com-storage-reviews/id1060681115 "Opens in a new window")/ [Spotify](https://open.spotify.com/show/1y6VnznABhHeOSMOmbDTz0 "Opens in a new window") |  [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/storagereview/ "Opens in a new window") |  [Twitter](https://twitter.com/storagereview "Opens in a new window") |  [TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/@storagereview?
