Mellanox Introduces SH2200 Ethernet Switch Module For HPE Synergy

Today at HPE Discover 2017 in Las Vegas, Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. announced its Spectrum Ethernet switch ASIC will power the first Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Synergy Switch Module supporting native 25, 50, and 100 Gb/s Ethernet connectivity. The SH2200 switch module connects HPE Synergy with an Ethernet switch fabric that the companies state has unmatched performance and latency, which is ideal for cloud, financial services, telecommunications, and HPC. Mellanox states that the SH2200 can deliver up to 6.4Tbps of non-blocking throughput.

The new SH2200 is all about enabling next-generation Ethernet performance. Computing this performance with HPE’s Synergy platform will help HPE maintain its leadership. The Mellanox Synergy switch module enables 25 and 50 Gb/s Ethernet compute and storage connectivity while benefiting from even higher speed 100 Gb/s uplinks, proving future proofing connectivity. The switch can bring high-performance Ethernet to the HPE Synergy portfolio benefiting applications such as financial trading and analytics, scientific computing, cloud, and NFV (Network Function Virtualization).

The new SH2200 HPE Synergy Fabric, powered by Mellanox’s Spectrum Ethernet switch, can open up the doors to what data centers are truly capable of. Not only will the switch module make enterprise applications faster and more efficient, it will also allow data center operators to analyze data in real-time and drive their business forward.

The Mellanox booth at HPE Discover is at the Sands Expo Center, Las Vegas, NV; June 5 – 8, 2017, booth no. 209.

The HPE Synergy compute modules with the Mellanox SH2200 Synergy Switch Module are expected to be available in the third quarter of calendar year, 2017.
