CoolIT Unveils CHx2000 CDU with 2MW Liquid Cooling Capacity in Standard Rack Footprint

CoolIT Systems has announced the launch of the CHx2000, a row-based coolant distribution unit (CDU) that sets a new benchmark for performance in liquid cooling. Following the introduction of the CHx1500 in early March 2025, which redefined industry standards, the CHx2000 elevates performance to an unprecedented level with its 2 MW liquid cooling capacity. This new CDU is currently in production and shipping globally.

High-Performance in a Compact Design

The CHx2000 delivers an industry-leading 2 MW liquid cooling capacity, making it today’s highest-performing row-based CDU. With a flow rate of 1.2 liters per minute per kilowatt (LPM/kW), it can support up to twelve 120kW NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 racks. Despite its exceptional performance, the unit maintains its compact CDU footprint, measuring just 750x1200mm.

Compared to its predecessor, the CHx1500, the CHx2000 provides a 66% increase in cooling capacity. It also surpasses competing solutions, offering more than twice the cooling capacity of the next-best “1350” CDU while maintaining an unmatched 53 psi secondary head pressure. These advancements render the CHx2000 the ideal solution for high-density data centers that require efficient and reliable cooling.

Durable and Easy to Maintain

CoolIT Systems has developed the CHx2000, emphasizing durability, uptime, and ease of maintenance. This unit incorporates high-grade wetted materials, stainless-steel piping, and integrated 25-micron filtration to ensure long-term reliability. The design allows for front and back service access, hot-swappable pumps, filters, and sensors, making the CHx2000 highly serviceable and minimizing downtime during maintenance.

The CHx2000 is engineered to meet the most demanding performance and availability standards. Built-in redundancies for critical components and advanced group control functionality for up to 20 units enable six-nines (99.9999%) of availability. Intelligent controls provide secure remote monitoring and communication through various protocols, including Redfish, SNMP, TCP/IP, and Modbus, ensuring seamless integration into modern data center environments.

Neil Mulji, Vice President of Product at CoolIT Systems, highlighted the company’s commitment to innovation: “We took the already outstanding performance of the CHx1500 and pushed pump performance and heat exchanger capacity even further. While both units share the same compact 750mm x 1200mm rack footprint, we engineered the CHx2000 to give customers several performance options.”
