IGEL Partners With CloudJumper To Simplify Cloud Workspaces On Azure

During Microsoft Inspire, IGEL and CloudJumper announced a partnership that would aim to simplify the deployment and management of cloud workspaces, including WVD workspaces delivered on Microsoft Azure. The partnership allows the two companies to deliver easier adoption of multi-session Windows 10 desktops and applications, by leveraging the secure and adaptive Linux-based IGEL OS. The CloudJumper CWMS is integrated with the IGEL UMS today via a custom partition, and is available now.

Aperion ADS1000 Launches On HPE ProLiant Gen10 Servers

Aperion Data Systems announced a global OEM agreement with Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). The OEM agreement integrates Aperion’s ADS1000 big data platform on HPE’s ProLiant DL360 Gen10 servers. This combination enables customers to experience a simple, secure, high-performing, and scalable big data solution.

SwiftStack Joins NVIDIA Partner Network

SwiftStack announced that it has joined NVIDIA’s Partner Network (NPN) as a solution advisor for artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) use cases. The two companies already work together with SwiftStack offering a solution that leverages the NVIDIA DGX-1 systems and the NGC container registry of GPU-optimized software.

SAP expands its Open Source Commitment

SAP is contributing the UI5 Web Components, a comprehensive library for all web developers, further deepening its commitment to the developer and open source community. The new UI5 allows developers to take advantage of the features offered by OpenUI5 while using other frameworks like React, Angular, or VueJS.

Rubrik Enhances Its Velocity Partner Program

Rubrik launched the Rubrik Authorized Support Partner (RASP) Specialization, an offshoot of their Rubrik Velocity Partner Program. Benefits include:

  • Partners can act as a one-stop-shop for support across multiple IT vendors, offering customers a single point of contact for fast issue resolution. 
  • Partners with a deep understanding of the customers' environment can provide tailored expertise to the end-user.
  • The specialization allows a select, high-performing group of partners to stand out in a crowded marketplace.
  • Allows partners to continue growing their business with Rubrik by generating new service revenues.

Druva Acquires CloudLanes

Druva announced that it had acquired the hybrid cloud data protection and migration company, CloudLanes. With the addition of CloudLanes, Druva can now expand cloud to the edge. They go on to state the acquisition will aide in bringing enterprises the ability to keep data readily available on-site, while leveraging SaaS-based business continuity, short recovery windows and greater workload mobility to reduce costs by up to 50 percent.

Carbonite Expands Data Protection For Office 365

Carbonite added new capabilities to its Endpoint 360 offering. The new capabilities include:

  • Server migration to Azure, now available on the Microsoft Azure Migrate portal 
  • Backup and high availability of Windows servers and Hyper-V environments 
  • Enterprise protection for Microsoft Windows endpoints, now with Office 365 backup

Samsung Begins Mass Production Of 12Gb LPDDR5 DRAM

Samsung announced that it has begun mass production on what it claims to be he industry’s first 12-gigabit (Gb) LPDDR5 mobile DRAM, which has been optimized for enabling 5G and AI features in future smartphones. The new DRAM is roughly 1.3x faster than the previous version with speeds of 5,500Mb/s. The company will begin produing 12GB LPDD5 packages this month that contain eight of the new 12Gb chips.

Toshiba RM5 Series earns VMware vSAN certification on HPE ProLiant Gen10 Servers

Toshiba Memory America announced that its value SAS SSD series, RM5, has been certified to for VMware vSAN 6.7 running on HPE ProLiant Gen10 Servers. The RM5 with vSAN 6.7 and ESXi 6.7 certification is available through the same channels as HPE ProLiant. Key specifications include:

VMware To Acquire Bitfusion

VMware announced its intent to acquire Bitfusion. Bitfusion is a pioneer in virtualization of accelerated compute with their focus being on GPU technology. The acquisition will strengthen VMware’s support of AI and ML-based workloads by virtualizing hardware accelerators.
