OCZ Agility 3 and Solid 3 SSDs Released
While the talk of breakneck SSD speeds often dominates the headlines, there's still a robust market of buyers looking for SSDs that perform well but are a little more gentle on the budget. The OCZ Agility 3 and Solid 3 are two options designed for this market. While less expensive, OCZ didn't skimp, both use a SATA 6Gb/s interface and leverage the new SandForce SF-2200 family of processors.
The OCZ Agility 3 delivers up to 525MB/s read speeds, 500MB/s writes, and up to 50,000 4KB random write IOPS. The Agility 3 comes in 60GB, 120GB and 240GB capacities.
The Solid 3 features 500MB/s reads, 450MB/s writes, and 20,000 4KB random write IOPS and will be available in 60GB and 120GB capacities.
Both SSD families support TRIM and offer 3-year warranties. The Agility 3 and Solid 3 lines are expected to be in retail soon; pricing has not been announced.
