Rozwiązanie IBM Digital Asset Haven w wersji beta wdrożone lokalnie na platformach IBM Z i LinuxONE z adapterem ISO 20022 do rejestru współdzielonego Swift

IBM has added two beta capabilities to IBM Digital Asset Haven, its digital asset platform for banks, governments, and other regulated organizations: an on-premises deployment that runs entirely inside a client’s own data center on IBM Z or IBM LinuxONE, and connectivity to permissioned blockchain networks, starting with Swift’s blockchain-based shared ledger. The Swift piece comes with an ISO 20022 Messaging Adapter, so a bank can instruct tokenized deposit transactions with the same payment message formats it already uses. Both are betas; the on-premises option has a waitlist.

“The financial services industry is entering a new era where tokenized and traditional assets will need to move side by side,” said Tom McPherson, general manager, IBM Z and LinuxONE. “As institutions modernize payments and prepare for a future of always-on transactions, they need infrastructure that combines innovation with the security, resiliency, and regulatory compliance requirements of regulated banking. By connecting to Swift’s shared ledger and extending IBM Digital Asset Haven to on-premises environments, IBM is helping clients participate in emerging digital asset networks while prioritizing control of their most critical financial operations.”

On-Premises on IBM Z and LinuxONE

Digital Asset Haven launched last October with SaaS and hybrid deployment options, and IBM says banking and payment institutions on several continents have started implementing use cases on it since. The on-premises beta keeps both the solution layer and the key management layer inside the client’s own IBM Z or LinuxONE environment, on customer-managed Red Hat OpenShift, with no dependency on public cloud infrastructure. Clients can run it on compatible IBM systems they already own or add capacity, including the rack-mount z17 and LinuxONE 5 systems IBM added in July.

Keys stay in IBM Crypto Express HSMs embedded in the system, with confidential computing and secured environment partitioning to separate production, test, and development. Root certificate authority keys are generated through formal, auditable key ceremonies that produce documentation a client can hand to a regulator, and cold storage runs through the IBM Offline Signing Orchestrator. The on-premises edition carries the same architecture, APIs, and workflows as the SaaS and Hybrid SaaS options, so moving between deployment models doesn’t mean rewriting applications. IBM quotes 99.999999% availability for the configuration, a figure from its internal measurements and projections on a specific stack (LinuxONE Rockhopper 5, z/VM 7.3 in a Single System Image, Red Hat OpenShift 4.14, GDPS 4.6, and DS8000 storage with HyperSwap, running a MongoDB workload) that excludes application-induced outages.

Swift’s Shared Ledger and the ISO 20022 Adapter

Swift’s ledger, announced at Sibos 2025 and designed with more than 40 financial institutions, went from concept to activation in nine months and is now in pilot with 17 first-mover institutions running tokenized deposit transactions. Swift itself connects 12,500 financial institutions across more than 200 markets. IBM says institutions already in the program have tested tokenized deposits on the ledger with Digital Asset Haven.

The ISO 20022 Messaging Adapter is what makes that practical for a bank’s operations team. It takes standard ISO 20022 messages and turns them into tokenized deposit instructions on the shared ledger, so the bank keeps its existing payment message formats and processes and avoids blockchain-specific workflows. Participating clients can move digital assets 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ahead of final settlement through existing systems, while continuing to use Swift standards and their own compliance processes. IBM frames the demand with a J.P. Morgan Payments figure that 93% of financial institutions are modernizing their payments infrastructure, which is J.P. Morgan’s number and not IBM’s. Beyond Swift, the platform’s connectivity layer also covers Hyperledger Besu, alongside key management, transaction signing, and policy-based governance tooling.
