WD Blue SN550 NVMe SSD Now Available

Western Digital (WD) has announced their newest high-performance drive, the WD Blue SN550 NVMe SSD. Released as a successor to the SN500, the new WD drive is a consumer-focused, entry-level NVMe M.2 2280 M.2 drive. As such, it is ideal for PC users looking to improve application, transfer and booting speeds over tradition SATA SSDs and HDDs and those who want to make the big jump to an NVMe-based system without having to dive deep in their pockets.

WD indicates that the SN550 can deliver over four-times the speed of their SATA drives, quoting 2,400MB/s in reads. With these speeds, content creators who work in a range of different resource-heavy environments (such as 4K/8K video, large document files or storage-intensive applications) will certainly also benefit from the new WD drive.

Available in capacities from 250GB to 1TB, the WD Blue SN550 NVMe SSD is available now.
