Supermicro’s modular Building Block Solutions architecture is central to this customization, providing efficient design configurations that optimize performance without unnecessary cost increases. The FlexTwin is highlighted by its ability to support up to 96 dual-processor compute nodes within a standard 48U rack, significantly enhancing performance density for large-scale deployments. This design enables users to consolidate processing power in a smaller physical footprint, which can be particularly advantageous for data centers and other facilities facing space and power constraints. The systems are designed for organizations that require high throughput computing environments, offering a balance of compute power and efficiency. ## Enhanced Cooling Technology for Greater Performance and Efficiency The new FlexTwin systems are equipped to handle the latest generation of CPUs, supporting up to 500 watts of power for high-frequency processors. This is made possible through Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) technology, which allows for greater compute density than traditional air-cooled systems can manage. DLC technology helps mitigate overheating by removing up to 90% of the heat generated by servers, improving system stability, and reducing energy consumption for more sustainable high-power usage. This enhanced cooling capability supports higher-performance components and enables improved reliability over time. Supermicro’s solution extends beyond just the server units themselves. The company offers a complete suite of infrastructure, including servers, networking hardware, liquid cooling systems, and even liquid cooling towers, ensuring that customers can fully integrate these systems into their existing operations with minimal delays. According to Supermicro, this end-to-end solution significantly reduces the time needed to deploy these technologies while increasing overall reliability. ## Customizable and Sustainable Architecture for Modern Data Centers The FlexTwin system’s architecture includes Supermicro’s Resource Saving technology, which aims to improve the overall efficiency of data center operations. By utilizing shared power supplies and reducing the number of duplicate components across multiple nodes, the system minimizes the use of raw materials and maximizes energy efficiency. This is reflected in the reduced Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of data centers utilizing these systems. The design is intended to make large-scale data centers more sustainable while offering the ability to scale up operations without increasing operational costs proportionately. The FlexTwin systems also emphasize serviceability, with front-accessible hot-swap compute nodes and input/output ports. This design simplifies maintenance by allowing IT staff to perform necessary repairs or upgrades from the cold aisle, reducing downtime and improving operational efficiency. Additionally, redundant power supplies and liquid cooling pumps have been included to ensure minimal service interruptions, further boosting the system’s overall reliability. ## Global Rack-Scale Integration For organizations deploying these systems at scale, Supermicro offers rack-scale integration services.
