HPE has announced the ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus, a powerful entry-level server in an ultra micro tower form factor. Organizations can customize the Gen10 Plus for on-premises, hybrid cloud or workloads that need datacenter performance. The server also features the latest Intel Xeon E and Pentium processors with 4x 1GbE onboard NICs and USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A connectivity. Measuring at only 4.6 in (11.7 cm) for height, the Gen10 Plus product is half that of the previous generation (MicroServer Gen10) and can be placed either horizontally or vertically to fit a range of different use cases.
The new Gen10 Plus server is powered by (up to) four cores from Intel Xeon E Processor line and up to 32 GB of 2666 MT/s DDR4 ECC UDIMM, allowing it deliver ideal performance for small business applications with a nice combination of performance, built-in capabilities, and cost-effectiveness. The Gen10 Plus also supports Intel Pentium processors.
The HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 Plus server offers a 4-port NIC standard with the option to upgrade with a variety of networking options for a bit more power, including 1GbE, 10GbE BASE-T and SFP+ edge cards. It also features a VGA port and a DisplayPort 1.0, as well as six USB 3.0 ports and one internal USB 2.0 port.
Looking at storage, the Gen10 Plus offers four internal bays that are 3.5″ LFF, with SATA connectivity. The system requires a little work to get to the drives and they are not hot swapable.

HPE is offering a couple configurations in their online store currently, including two base configurations without drives. One is powered by an Intel Pentium E-2224 processor and 16GB memory. The other comes with an Intel Pentium G5420 processor and 8GB memory. All of the Gen10 Plus systems come with four LFF drives bays that are not hot-swappable. HPE is accepting quote inquiries now, with volume shipments expected soon.
