Citrix has agreed to sell their CloudPlatform and CloudPortal Business Manager product lines to Accelerite. Accelerite is a provider of infrastructure software for cloud, mobility and endpoint solutions, which should make them a good fit. CloudPlatform is powered by Apache CloudStack and is designed to orchestrate both traditional enterprise and cloud-native application workloads within a single unified cloud management platform. CloudPortal Business Manager is a unified cloud services delivery and business management platform.
Citrix found CloudPlatform and CloudPortal Business Manager to be non-core to their vision of what the company should be delivering to their customers in the cloud. Going forward Citrix plans on focusing their energy around secure delivery of apps and data. To that end, Citrix will work with Accelerite to build on CloudPlatform integrations with XenServer, NetScaler and Citrix Workspace Cloud. Citrix said they also will continue to work with the OpenStack and CloudStack communities to ensure products are optimized for those projects.
The acquisition is expected to close in Q1 2016.
