Cloudian Inc. has announced the release of the latest version of its flagship object storage solution, Cloudian HyperStore 6.0. This new version of HyperStore incorporates innovative automation for data storage management that Cloudian states will enable enterprises and solution providers can simply and cost-effectively manage petabyte-scale data volumes. HyperStore 6.0 will feature unique proactive repair, and Amazon S3 cross-region replication for disaster recovery, as well as smart storage analytics.
As we stated in our review of HyperStore, HyperStore is a storage platform that exemplifies the opportunities made possible and the convergence of widely-available cloud storage and open APIs. The HyperStore software appliance allows administrators to deploy a fully-compliant S3 object storage cloud across commodity server hardware, with the option to scale seamlessly with the addition of new commodity hardware or purpose-build HyperStore hardware appliances. With the latest version of 6.0, Cloudian claims that HyperStore can “transform the data center for a fraction of the cost of other object storage offerings.”
