Today Coho Data announced the release of the latest version of software that powers their arrays, DataStream 2.6. This latest release integrates with VMware Site Recovery Manger. This integration will bring users easy disaster recovery, failover, and failback.

Along with the integration with VMware Site Recovery Manger, DataStream 2.6 has further advanced its Software Defined Networking functionality with support for a variety of enterprise network topologies. This support would allow for seamless integration and storage-network convergence for responsive storage performance “that is unparalleled in the industry today.” Now the Software Defined Network engine provides native support for the use of Link Aggregation across multi-hop enterprise networks. Customers will now see high availability with higher levels of aggregate network performance.

Also included in this release is management integration with LDAP and Microsoft Active directory. This integration allows the Coho Data management interface to be managed with the standard enterprise tools without requiring any additional credential management. These extensions for authentication also apply to the rich set of REST APIs that Coho Data customers take advantage of to automate provisioning and monitoring.

Availability and pricing

All of Coho DataStream updates are immediately available when announced and are free to existing customers.
