This morning, Cray, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, unveiled its new parallel storage platform for the Exascale Era, ClusterStor E1000. The E1000 is built to address the growth of data from converged workloads as well as the need to access that data at faster and faster speeds. Cray states that the ClusterStor E1000 has already been selected by the US Department of Energy (DOE) for use at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
Digital Transformation has become an amorphous buzzword (or phrase) that has been for just about anything and everything. However, most companies are making several changes in order to keep up with an evolving landscape and try to get an edge over their competition. This transformation is in part happening to deal with and extract insight from the massively growing data. As data continues to grow and things continue to change, a new method for storing data has to be implemented.
Enter the ClusterStor E1000 the external high performance storage system for the first three U.S. exascale systems. The E1000 will total over 1.3 exabytes of storage once all three systems are up and running. The all-flash system is capable of over 4TB/s write bandwidth.
