Dell Announces Expanded AI Offerings to Speed Secure Generative AI Initiatives

Dell Technologies has introduced new offerings to help customers securely build generative AI (GenAI) models on-premises that will accelerate improved outcomes driving new levels of intelligence. Expanding on the Project Helix announcement in May, Dell GenAI Solutions span IT infrastructure, PCs, and professional services. GenAI Solutions from Dell will simplify the adoption of full-stack GenAI with large language models (LLMs). The solutions will help organizations of all sizes across industries securely transform and deliver improved outcomes.

The GenAI Solutions encompass the breadth of Dell’s portfolio, including Dell Precision workstations, PowerEdge servers, PowerScale scale-out storage, ECS enterprise object storage, and a broad set of services and provide the reliable tools to deliver GenAI solutions from desktops to core data centers, edge locations, and public clouds.

Validated Design for Generative AI

Jointly engineered with NVIDIA, Dell Validated design for GenAI with NVIDIA is an inferencing blueprint optimized to speed the deployment of modular, secure, and scalable platforms for GenAI in the enterprise. Traditional approaches to scale and support LLMs for real-time inferencing results have been onerous. Dell’s GenAI solutions are expected to help customers generate high-quality, faster time-to-value predictions and decisions using their data.

The comprehensive verified inferencing approach lets organizations rapidly deploy GenAI projects and scale applications to transform processes in critical areas like customer operations, content creation and management, software development, and sales.

The pre-tested Dell Validated Designs use proven configurations to power GenAI inferencing with Dell infrastructure, such as Dell PowerEdge XE9680 or R760xa, with a choice of NVIDIA Tensor Core GPUs, NVIDIA AI Enterprise software, NVIDIA NeMo end-to-end framework, and Dell software at the core. This can be combined with unstructured data storage, including PowerScale and ECS storage. The infrastructure is available via Dell APEX, giving customers an on-premises deployment with a cloud consumption and management experience.

Services Deliver New Capabilities, Accelerating GenAI Adoption

Dell Professional Services is delivering a broad spectrum of new capabilities assisting customers to accelerate GenAI adoption to improve operational efficiency and advance innovation. Dell services begin by creating a new GenAI strategy to identify high-value use cases with an achievable roadmap.

Dell offers a full-stack implementation service based on the Dell Validated Design for GenAI with NVIDIA and adoption services that apply the platform to specific use cases. Once integrated into the business, Dell’s scaling services help improve operations through managed services, training, or resident experts.

Locally Developed GenAI on Precision Workstations

AI developers and data scientists can develop and fine-tune GenAI models locally prior to deploying at scale. Precision workstations, with up to four NVIDIA RTX 6000 Ada Generation GPUs, provide performance and reliability to run AI software frameworks 80 percent faster than previous generations.

Dell Optimizer AI software is built in, learning and responding to how people work, improving performance across applications, network connectivity, and audio. Even mobile workstation users can leverage GenAI models to improve performance for applications with minimal impact on battery runtime.

Availability

  • Dell Validated Design for Generative AI with NVIDIA is available globally through traditional channels and Dell APEX today.
  • Dell Professional Services for Generative AI are available in select countries now.
  • Dell Precision workstations (7960 Tower, 7865 Tower, 5860 Tower) with NVIDIA RTX 6000 Ada Generation GPUs will be available globally in early August.
  • Dell Optimizer adaptive workload will be available globally on select Precision mobile workstations on August 30.
