Eaton Launches 9PXM UPS

Eaton recently announced its latest scalable, modular tower/rackmount backup power solution, the 9PXM UPS. Through its 4 kilovolt-ampere (kVA) plug-and play, hot swappable power modules, the 9PXM UPS aims to provide IT managers and data center operators a highly efficient and reliable solution with the lowest TCO in the 4-20 kVA range.

The 9PXM UPS features a double-conversion technology, which promises constant power conditioning and high efficiency while reducing energy and cooling costs. With the inclusion of Eaton’s Advanced Battery Management (ABM) technology which utilized a three-stage charging technique that significantly extends battery service life and optimizes recharge time (when compared to traditional trickle charging technology), the 9PXM is an ideal backup power solution for a range of IT applications.

Eaton states the following benefits and features:

  • A smart extended battery module (EBM) that can detect the need for battery replacement
  • Hot-swappable power and battery modules, reducing service calls or redundant system bypasses
  • A compact footprint, saving equipment space and allowing for deployment in spaces with little room to spare
  • 4-post or high-density racks, power distribution units (PDUs), and network gear compatibility, allowing for more fluent integration into the IT infrastructure
  • Universal slots for extended runtime in a single chassis
