EMC has announced the general availability of the latest release of SaleIO, version 1.31. This new release will provide two times the performance improvement in VMware environments from an IO perspective and an improved vSphere deployment process with support for VMware installation manager.
ScaleIO is a single-layer, enterprise-grade storage product that is scalable and elastic. ScaleIO can scale from a couple of servers to thousands (scaling from a few terabytes to several petabytes), and businesses can shrink or expand capacity and performance as needed without data migration or capacity planning. This latest release is a great example of EMC and VMware working together through the OpenStack Reference Architecture Program. The interoperability between ScaleIO and VMware makes it easy for customers to deploy ScaleIO in an ESX environment with lower overhead, ease of administration, and improved performance.
