G-Technology Announces G-SPEED Shuttle XL RAID Storage Solutions

G-Technology has announced two new mobile 8-bay RAID storage solutions, the G-SPEED Shuttle XL as well as a model that includes ev Series Bay Adapters. The new storage solutions come with an integrated handle to make it easily for professionals on the go and to fit inside a standard protective case. Both solutions are designed with performance and capacity in mind for post-production and backup in the studio. They will be showcased February 23-25 at BV EXPO (BVE).

G-SPEED Shuttle XL with ev Series Bay Adapters

Specifically designed to support multi-stream 4K workflows, the G-SPEED Shuttle XL with ev Series Bay Adapters is an 8-bay storage solution that features hardware RAID (RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10), Thunderbolt 2 connection solution, transfer rates up to 1,200MB/s, and upwards of 48TB in capacity. It comes equipped with six enterprise-class hard drives and three-year limited warranty.

As product name indicates, two of the 8 bays feature ev Series Bay Adapters, which are compatible with any of the portable G-DRIVE ev external drives, such as the G-DRIVE ev RaW, G-DRIVE ev 220, G-DRIVE ev RaW SSD and ev Series Reader RED MINI-MAG Edition.

G-SPEED Shuttle XL

Like the other model, the G-SPEED Shuttle XL is an 8-bay storage solution with Thunderbolt 2 connectivity; however, it offers up to larger 64TB in storage and features eight enterprise-class hard drives. It can also be configured in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10 & 50 and boasts maximum transfer rates of 1,350MB/s to seamlessly support 4K workflows.

Pricing and availability

The G-SPEED Shuttle XL with ev Series Bay Adapters is priced at $3,299.95 for 18TB, $3,499.95 for 24TB, $4,999.95 for 36TB and $5,999.95 for 48TB.

The G-SPEED Shuttle XL is $3,499.95 for 24TB, $4,499.95 for 32TB, $5,999.95 for 48TB and $7,999.95 for 64TB. Both models are now available.
