Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) introduced an update to its OneView software, version 4.0. The latest version aims to streamline data center management and operations while simplifying hybrid IT. HPE also announced several new cloud management partners who have integrated their software with the unified RESTful API offered in HPE OneView.
Correct management of the data center can make or break businesses in the digital age. Data center managers need tools that simplify their work while still optimizing resources for maximum value. As its name implies, HPE OneView is able to bring several systems into a single environment. As HPE states, it converts servers, storage and networking tools into a software-defined infrastructure automation engine. For this automation, OneView leverages its unified API to provide full programmability and deep integrations with third-party tools. The newest version combines traditional IT and private, managed and public clouds into a easier to deploy and manage Hybrid IT.

HPE announced several new cloud management partners who have integrated their software with the unified RESTful API offered in HPE OneView. These include Morpheus Data, CANCOM, and InContinuum. On this same note, the company introduced a HPE OneView Redfish Toolkit. This toolkit helps users to take automations that are used with the Redfish specification and apply them to HPE OneView managed infrastructure without needing to do extensive re-scripting. The toolkit will also enable users to combine the power of HPE OneView templates to compose compute, storage and fabric with the flexibility of industry standards.
Availability
HPE OneView 4.0 is expected to be available in December 2017.
