The XG8 Series also supports the NVMe 1.4 feature set and Basic Management Commands over System Management Bus (SMBus), giving users improved thermal management abilities. In addition, sideband signals (PERST#, CLKREQ# and PLN#) are available in both 1.8V and 3.3V (though current client models only support 3.3V), which means support for more platforms.
The XG8 series comes in capacities of 512GB, 1,024GB, 2,048GB and 4,096GB, and is available now for customer evaluation. A full spec sheet is expected as the drive nears general availability in the next month or two.
