Today, Dell Technologies announced new advancements to its Dell Technologies Cloud. A big advancement is the new subscription-based pricing model, that Dell believes will make the service easier to buy as well as lower the price barrier for entry. Dell is claiming that it provides the industry’s fastest hybrid cloud deployment, allowing a growing number of customers to accelerate hybrid cloud deployments and simplify IT operations.

Hybrid/multi-cloud approaches seem to be the way that most medium to large companies are going. There are now tons of options with the various combinations on the market today. Still, organizations are wary of going with certain solutions as they want freedom to be able to move workloads around in whichever cloud is best for the workload. At the same time, customers desire consistent cloud management that, according to ESG Research, is a long way off today with only 5% of respondents meeting the criteria for cloud management consistency.

Dell Technologies is looking to solve the above with its new subscription-based model of Cloud. The Dell Technologies Cloud is a combination of VMware and Dell EMC infrastructure. According to the company, users will be able to deploy a hybrid loud in as still as two weeks and then scale the environment in just five days. The subscription includes hardware, software and services, which includes deployment, support and asset recovery. It is sold in one- or three-year agreements and can be priced as low as $70/node per day.

Customer benefits include:

  • Avoid hidden costs or unpredictable forecasting risks
  • Lower the barrier to entry for hybrid cloud by starting with what is required today and scaling as needs change over time
  • Optimize investments from deployment through expansion and retirement with Dell Technologies Services experts

Availability

Dell Technologies Cloud, specifically VMware Cloud Foundation on Dell EMC VxRail, is available globally. The Dell Technologies Cloud subscription offering is available now in the United States.
