NetApp has been busy building on its multi-cloud, hybrid-cloud message and solidifying relationships with cloud providers AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. NetApp announced AWS on NetApp ONTAP, Azure NetApp Files, and NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP for Google Cloud. There has also been a push to enhance other vendor relationships such as VMware and NVIDIA.

To further their push into cloud management, in 2020, NetApp acquired Spot to extend its cloud storage solution. Spot also automates and optimizes cloud infrastructure by harnessing advanced analytics and automation. With continuous optimization, customers could save up to 90 percent of their cloud costs while maintaining application SLAs.

The CloudCheckr acquisition enhances the cloud management portfolio complementing Spot Eco, Ocean, Cloud Analyzer, and Spot PC capabilities with cloud billing analytics, configuration management, monitoring, and assessment. These tools provide visibility and intelligence needed to better monitor, understand, and continuously optimize cloud costs, security, and usage at scale.
