Today Samsung Electronics America, Inc. announced the release of the Portable Solid State Drive (SSD) T7 Touch. The latest version of the company’s flagship portable memory device keeps with Samsung’s beautiful design while adding even more performance through the USB Gen 2 standard. The T7 Touch also comes with a built-in fingerprint sensor for added security.
Digital projects are getting larger and consumers need somewhere to store all or their data. While the cloud is always an option, connectivity and security may be an issue. For those that are worried about security, the Samsung T7 Touch should assuage those fears with its built-in fingerprint sensor on top of password protection and AES 256-bit hardware encryption. The portable drive comes in capacities ranging from 500GB to 2TB and would be a good fit for those that take large numbers of pictures, have several games, or take and/or edit 4K/8K videos. The quoted read speeds are up to 1.05GB/s and write speeds as high as 1GB/s. The drive comes with both a USB Type-C-to-C cable and a USB Type-C-to-A cable.
