Pivot3 shared with us some of the details of their next planned update to their Acuity Software Platform. Pivot3 was founded in 2003 and shipped its first hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) platform in 2008. It currently focuses on providing HCI products, especially for surveillance, including both datacenter and edge platforms running custom software.

The first piece of news from Pivot3 is that Acuity 10.8 will be released by the end of this September. Included in this release, will be several upgrades that Pivot3 says are already in their Intelligence Engine. 10.8 will be adding an “Upgrade Manager” designed to simplify performing end-to-end system updates. It does this by automating what Pivot3 calls mundane system administration tasks. Unfortunately, they did not share any details about precisely what kinds of tasks will be automated.

Acuity 10.8 will also feature a Health and Best Practices Analyzer. The analyzer will automatically verify system health and detect anomalies. The analyzer will function both system-wide and on individual appliances. Pivot3 says that the analyzer will also ensure that best practices to deliver 24 X 7 system uptime and availability are observed.

Availability

Acuity 10.8 is targeted for Q3 2020
