Supermicro has unveiled its Total Solution for Lustre on ZFS at this week’s Lustre User Group conference. Leveraging the Intel Enterprise Edition for Lustre, this fully integrated software-defined storage solution is based on Supermicro 4U 90x top-load 3.5” 8TB hot-swap storage JBOD, 2U SuperStorage servers with Simply Double extreme performance all-flash 48x NVMe options, and 1U Ultra SuperServer. As a result, Supermicro believes this will accelerate deployment and scalability all the while lowering storage acquisition and operational costs. Last month, Supermicro announced their 2U Simply Double SuperStorage Architecture.
With Supermicro’s flexible Pod Cluster architecture, performance, density, capacity and reliability are all optimized for scalable configurations, which support up to 1.4PB raw in 12U and throughput up to 7GB/s, 12Gb/s SAS3 and 56Gb/s FDR InfiniBand interconnectivity. In addition, the Total Solution for Lustre on ZFS comes with the latest security, performance and efficiency features of Lustre and is also preconfigured with Intel Manager for Lustre software.
