Today at Cisco Live in Las Vegas, SwiftStack announced that it has entered a reseller agreement with Cisco. The two companies state that this agreement will further enable the delivery of a turnkey enterprise cloud solution giving customers the ability to innovate faster, and respond to market opportunities with start-up speed and enterprise reliability. This solution will be Cisco’s first object storage reseller agreement. This agreement builds off of SwiftStack’s membership in the Cisco Solution Partner Program.
One such solution is Cisco Metapod. Metapod is a production-ready, OpenStack-based, on-premises solution that is engineered, deployed and managed by Cisco for enterprises, developers and researchers. With the new agreement, SwiftStack will provide object storage for data-centric workloads that directly integrates with Cisco Metapod and Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS). The companies state that the solution can be delivered either as a Cisco-managed service with Cisco Metapod or self-managed, and customers can monitor their multi-site storage from an easy-to-use browser interface.
