Today Synology America Corp released the latest beta of its comprehensive surveillance application, Surveillance Station 7.1 beta. We previously reviewed Surveillance Station 7.0 and found it to have more than enough features for most users and was simple to install and use. This new beta release is designed to deliver optimized performance for environments with distributed resources with Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) and multicast support, with refined alerts and notifications.
Surveillance Station 7.0, like many of Synology's great apps, comes free with the purchase of a Synology DiskStation or RackStation. It is compatible with over 3,000 IP cameras, has several features such as a live view that allows up to 64 channels to be streamed at once in 720p, and comes with a physical access controller that allows users to control Axis network doors. The latest 7.1 beta is all about adding new features and smoothing out existing features.
