Today VMware announced upgrades that they plan to release for a range of vRealize products next year. VMware is targeting the first quarter of their fiscal 2020 year for the of VMware vRealize Operations 7.5, VMware vRealize Automation 7.6, VMware vRealize Network Insight 4.1, and VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 2.1.

VMware markets vRealize Operations as a tool to automatically optimize your workload according to any of several profiles as well as helping with planning and scaling hybrid clouds. VMware has several new features planned for the 7.5 update due next year. Foremost VMware is looking to add performance optimization of VMware vSAN clusters via workload rebalancing that is resync-, slack space- and Storage Policy Based Management aware. Additionally, the platform will introduce placement optimization for vSAN workloads using storage intent definition. To help customers reduce costs, 7.5 will add allocation-based capacity management alongside existing demand-based modeling. VMware will also be including a number of new cost comparison scenarios including head-to-head comparisons of in-house vSphere clouds vs. VMware cloud on AWS, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, and other VMware Cloud Provider Program partner clouds. Further risk management enhancements come in the form of the planned introduction of integrated compliance and automated drift remediation capabilities for VMware vSphere. Customers will be able to measure vSphere compliance stature against critical public standards, extend into custom compliance standards as well as automate configuration management with OOTB workflows and vRealize Orchestrator integration. Finally, the 7.5 update will also add Telegraf agent-based application and OS monitoring with agent lifecycle management and out-of-the-box application troubleshooting dashboard.

VMware markets vRealize Automation as a tool to streamline the provisioning process of new applications. VMware vRealize Automation 7.6 will further extend its integration with VMware NSX Data Center by adding on-demand support for private networks as well as VMware NSX-T and NSX for vSphere configuration for different clusters with a single VMware vCenter Server. The other big new item added is planned to be support for multi-tenancy in VMware vRealize Orchestrator. Additionally, VMware is planning to enhance the existing Custom Forms with API validation and Regular Expression support for DataGrid.

VMware vRealize Network Insight, which is also available as a VMware Cloud Service, is targeting an update to 4.1 for next year. 4.1 will deliver increased visibility across network overlay and underlay by introducing flow latency and F5 load balancer support.
