In this review, we will compare the new ADATA Premier microSD XC/SDHC UHS-I Class 10 Card to the following microSD card:
Using the HP Z2 mini Workstation we measured sequential read speeds of 60.6MB/s and sequential writes of 33.41MB/s for the ADATA microSD card. This compared to the Samsung’s 92.15MB/s read and 84.62MB/s write. With random 2MB speeds the ADATA had 50.58MB/s read and 29.81MB/s write compared to the Samsung’s 85.73MB/s read and 1.16MB/s write. For random 4k transfers, the ADATA card hit read 2,971 IOPS read and 1,190 IOPS write compared to the Samsung’s 1,480 IOPS read and 420 IOPS write.
Conclusion
The ADATA Premier microSD XC/SDHC UHS-I Class 10 is the company’s new microSD line that comes with capacity up to 128GB and quoted speeds up to 85MB/s. The card is ideal for expanding capacity in Android devices as it is A1-qualifed ensuring applications install and run at top speed. The card travels well as it is waterproof, shockproof, and x-ray proof as well as antistatic.

While it was able to push past the Samsung EVO Plus microSD on some tests (especially the 4k random transfers and random writes) it lagged on others.
The ADATA Premier microSD XC/SDHC UHS-I Class 10 card offers a nice performance for a low retail price of $64. While it isn’t as fast as the Samsung EVO in sequential speeds, it more than makes up for it in random performance, not to mention that it is one-third less expensive. For users that need more space in their Android devices or Kindles, it offers more than enough capacity and performance. If performance is what is truly sought, there are better options available for a price.
